CEM Career And Entrepreneurship Expo Assists Budding Graduates To Find Jobs

SERDANG, April 26 – The two-day Career and Entrepreneurship 2017 Expo organized by Universiti Putra Malaysia’s Centre of Entrepreneurial Development And Graduate Marketability (CEM) has helped the university’s students as well as others from public and private universities in the country to find suitable jobs for themselves.

CEM Director, UPM, Dr. Mass Hareeza Ali@Hamid said more than 50 local and international companies took part in the expo, offering more than 4,000 job opportunities to connect budding graduates with their potential employers.

“This expo serves as a platform that can help boost entrepreneurship traits through entrepreneurial activities by providing the environment and ecosystem which are conducive for businessmen who are looking for business potentials,” she said.

The expo, held for the seventh time, was aimed at enhancing marketability and availability of UPM graduates and its target was for at least 75 percent of the university’s Final Year students will participate in the programme.

The objectives of the expo were also aimed at increasing the number of companies, alumni agencies and organizations that take in and interview graduates and to expand the collaboration network between the industries and UPM.

Among the more interesting events held during the expo were a sharing session in the journey for a career “Inwinccible X Journey Dr. Soo Wincci, a Benefit of Volunteerism slot by guest speaker from Singapore, Khairil Rassidy, lucky draw, Grooming for Success slot, PROTON safety Awareness, Entrepreneurship Bazaar and  Food Truck.

The expo was launched by UPM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Datin Paduka Dr. Aini Ideris.
